Almond Cow Review With Video
Once upon a time, I believed in almond milk. Mind you, this was LONG before I would dream up an Almond Cow review.
This was over a decade ago, when hardly anyone had ever heard of almond milk, and I was just beginning my healing journey from Lyme disease. After quitting dairy (and a bunch of other stuff), I was so happy to discover almond milk. And happier still as the years went by, and it became more and more popular.
Back then, never would I ever have scoured the ingredient list to check for offenders. Why would almond milk have offenders? Things were a little more black and white in my mind. Dairy? Bad. Almond milk (and all health foods): Good.
But these days, after years of reading ingredient labels and health books, I’ve changed my tune. If you have the right genes to process dairy, there is nothing wrong with organic, pasture-raised milk. (Except for the ethical issues, of course, but pasture-raised is still about the best you can do besides hitting up the farm yourself). Usually, if you check the carton, milk is all you will get.
But almond milk? Not so much. These days, any brand, and any type of nut milk for that matter (cashew, coconut, etc.) is just as likely as any other to have an ingredient list requiring a PhD to understand. There are almost always “emulsifying agents” to make the milk stick together and stay creamy and “stable.” Guar gum, carragenan, sunflower lecithin, and seed oils like rapeseed (ie. canola) oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil and the list goes on.
Needless to say, this frankenfood ingredients are NOT whole food. They don’t even resemble whole food. And I’m not here for it.
Enter the Almond Cow.
What is the Almond Cow?
The Almond Cow milk maker is a miraculous machine invented to make nut milk so easily and with almost no mess. It’s kind of like a blender, but it has a built-in basket that collects the nutty fiber so there is zero graininess in the finished product.
How Does the Almond Cow Work?
The Almond Cow milk maker comes with a few parts: the blending jug, blades and a twist-on sieve metal basket. (There is also a smaller container you can add to make creamer.) You simply add water to the jug, fill the basket with your nut of choice, and blend.
The Almond Cow is not limited to almonds by any means. You can use almonds, but you could also use cashews, pistachios, brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, peanuts, hazelnuts… whatever nut you can think of. You can even use already-made rice or oats for rice or oat milk. And don’t forget flavorings! Anything from salt to vanilla to maple syrup can be added to the water before blending.
Pros and Cons of the Almond Cow
Pros:
The Almond Cow milk maker has many pros, starting with the short amount of time. Making homemade milk sounds like it would take forever, but in less than a minute it can be loaded, blended and washed. I swear, two minutes tops. Once you hit the button, the actual milk-making process is for sure 60 seconds at absolute most.
No Almond Cow review would be complete without mentioning how easy it is to clean this thing. Like, pretty unbelievable. Not to sound gross, but I don’t even bother with soap. I just rinse it immediately after using (covering the electrical part with my hand) and pop it on my drying rack. Could. Not. Be. Easier.
The last pro I’ll just reiterate is that you can make pretty much any kind of milk you can imagine. There are tons of Almond Cow recipes in the included booklet and online, and the world is your stage here.
Cons:
The only real downside to the Almond Cow milk maker is the price tag. Some would consider $245 pretty reasonable for what you get, but it’s definitely an investment when you’ve never bought one before. You’re thinking… 200 bucks? For milk?
The thing to remember is that this machine is excellent quality, will probably last forever (I’ve had mine several years with no problems), and you will definitely make back the money that you would have spent on pricey milk. Hey, it adds up. Especially if you’re aiming for whole foods only. MALK is the only brand I’m aware of with only whole ingredients, and it runs you about $6-8 for a pretty small bottle (for me it’s gone in 1-2 days). Using my Almond Cow makes way, wayyy more financial sense.
How to Use the Almond Cow: Step-by-Step Guide Video
In this Almond Cow review video, you can see exactly how simple it is to use the Almond Cow milk maker:
Is the Almond Cow Easy to Clean?
As I mentioned above, the Almond Cow could not be easier to clean. Simply twist the nut compartment off the blades, save or toss the (very small amount of) waste, and rinse under running water. Pro tip: use your hand or fingers to shield to electrical connector part.
Almond Cow vs. Traditional Nut Milk Making
Not gonna lie to you, I’ve never made nut milk traditionally because it always seemed like the biggest pain the a&#. Using a cheese cloth to drain a bunch of nuts? I’m a messy person on a good day, but this just sounds like I would leave the kitchen wet and covered in milk. No thank you.
With the Almond Cow I walk away quickly, cleanly and without a drop of water or stain of milk in sight.
Cost and Value: Is the Almond Cow Worth It?
If I haven’t made it clear already, I will state it loud and clear: the Almond Cow is 100% worth the money.
Almond Cow Review Final Verdict: Should You Buy This Milk Maker?
Honestly, if you’re like me and drink milk every day, the Almond Cow is such an awesome investment. I use milk in everything from smoothies and cereal to general cooking and baking, and I use a LOT of it. To me, it could not make more sense to have my own easy milk-making machine on hand.
I hope you found this Almond Cow review helpful and walk away feeling confident in at least these two takeaways:
2. Homemade nutmilk is NOT difficult to make AT ALL
2. This machine is 100% worth the cost and will definitely pay itself off – not only in milk costs, but in healthcare costs!

Try Cook & Crumbs’ latest: a creamy vegan mushroom sauce featuring deliciously indulgent homemade cashew milk. You can eat it on meat or fish, but my favorite way is with chickpea spaghetti.
