If you’re looking for an easy quick breakfast idea, healthy breakfast ideas or even healthy dessert ideas, this Strawberry Lime Vitamin C Smoothie is one of my fastest yet most delicious smoothies of all time. It’s a kid friendly start or finish to any of your family friendly meals, or makes a light weekday breakfast on its own.
When it’s the middle of winter, you might not be dreaming of cold smoothies. Let this strawberry lime vitamin C smoothie change your mind.
Yes, it is so deliciously refreshing and cooling in the summer, but it’s those cooler months when we really need the extra dose of vitamin C.
And did you know strawberries have more vitamin C than oranges per serving? Limes are high in vitamin C too, yet strawberries top them, too!
If you’re looking for more healthy smoothie ideas, check out this spiced banana date smoothie, decadent chocolate smoothie, or mint chocolate chip smoothie (yes, it’s like ice cream).

Why You’ll Love This Smoothie
- It’s addicting anytime of year! Sure, it’s mouthwatering in warm weather, but we drink it a few mornings a week even mid-winter and it whets the appetite like a refreshing appetizer.
- It is truly a vitamin C smoothie to its core, packed with nutrients but with a focus on the C.
- It’s super kid-friendly and even toddler-friendly.
Ingredients for Strawberry Lime Vitamin C Smoothie
- Strawberries: I use frozen for this recipe so I can skip the ice. Now, if I was trying to make a slushie I would definitely opt for ice, but as a smoothie it is not necessary. Ice just dilutes the yummy strawberry flavor.
- Lime: You can use more or less lime, if desired, but I find the juice of one is just right (about ¼ cup)
- Honey: I prefer to use honey as a sweetener here, but maple syrup works in a pinch. It just adds a slightly “maply” taste which ever so slightly takes away from the tart fruit.
Substitutes & Additions
- Lemon makes a great substitute if you are out of lime. Same goes for oranges. You can also skip the citrus all together and it’s still a delicious smoothie with just strawberries and honey.
How To Make Strawberry Lime Vitamin C Smoothie
- Juice lime.
- Optional: Mix honey with lime juice for a few minutes to dissolve so it doesn’t stick to the sides of your blender.
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend!
Serving Suggestions
- Use it as a starter: This smoothie makes a great appetizer or something to drink along with breakfast. Because it doesn’t have any fat, I like to eat something with fat on the side. Eggs, some kind of meat, or even just milk with cereal.
